UW–Madison names Haddix new School of Education dean

Haddix has held numerous leadership positions in her 16 years at Syracuse University and currently serves as associate provost for strategic initiatives. She also led for two terms as chair of the Reading and Language Arts department in the School of Education at Syracuse. Haddix describes her work as “very interdisciplinary” and believes the School of Education’s focus on education, arts and health is aligned with her vision of what a holistic approach to education should be.

Jonathan Levine to become dean of UW–Madison School of Veterinary Medicine

At Texas A&M, Levine has served as professor and head of small animal clinical sciences. His time there has given him an in-depth understanding of what it takes to build an impactful research and care program in an academic veterinary school, as well as an appreciation of the importance of fostering an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives.

Public presentations scheduled for vice chancellor for research search candidates

Three finalists for the vice chancellor for research will visit campus over the next three weeks. The candidates’ names and CVs will be made available to the UW–Madison community 48 hours prior to each visit.

La Tarte selected as DAPIR vice provost

Allison La Tarte has been selected as the vice provost for Data, Academic Planning & Institutional Research at UW–Madison. La Tarte, who has been at UW–Madison since 2014, had been the interim associate vice provost of DAPIR since January of 2022. Before that, she was the associate director of institutional research.
