Everett Mitchell receives award for community impact

As director of community relations for the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Everett Mitchell often draws upon multiple aspects of his identity – attorney, pastor, community leader – to bridge divides through engagement with people he serves. In recognition of his work advancing civil rights, justice and compassion, the board of the Charles Hamilton Houston Institute (CHHI) has voted unanimously to present him with its Difference Maker Award.

UW’s mobile app receives major update, new name

The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s official mobile app has received such a major update that it’s gotten a new name. “Mobile UW” is now “Wisconsin” — an app with a sharp interface and handful of new options, including access to course materials. The Division of Information Technology (DoIT) launched the free update for Apple iOS and Android devices this week.

Animated spot looks forward, reflects on why UW-Madison matters

While there’s a break in action during the Wisconsin-LSU football game, UW-Madison will take 30 seconds to turn its eyes forward — emphasizing that the university serves not only to improve lives today, but also to move society toward a better future. The new institutional spot, titled “Reality Forward,” will premier nationally Saturday on ESPN and run during other UW sporting events throughout the academic year.
