Study abroad participation at UW–Madison reaches all-time high
The number of University of Wisconsin–Madison students participating in study abroad has climbed to an all-time high, with a majority of participating students opting for semester- and year-long programs.

Rec Sports hosts Day of Play
The University of Wisconsin–Madison Division of Recreational Sports will host Day of Play from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15 at the UW Natatorium, 2000 Observatory Drive. Day of Play is a free annual event that introduces kids in grades K-5 to the Rec Sports mantra: "Play Hard. Get Fit. Live Well."

In a quirky celebration of the fall harvest, participants paddled on Lake Mendota in massive, hollowed-out pumpkins made buoyant by inflated inner tubes in the annual Hoofer Sailing Club Pumpkin Regatta Oct. 10. The event is organized by UW–Madison horticulture professors Irwin Goldman and Jim Nienhuis.
