Indigenous students, faculty, staff and alumni from UW–Madison came together throughout Native November to celebrate, reflect, and laugh in their shared experiences.
This year’s Latinx Heritage Month reflected on the connected yet distinct Latinx customs and traditions that have been transplanted across multiple generations, through many spaces, and have found their way to UW–Madison.
Twenty-seven groups from different student organizations affiliated with the Multicultural Student Center performed a mix of stepping/strolling, dance routines and a capella singing for new students seeking to join student organizations.
Students enjoyed everything from a community weaving loom to trivia questions to making bookmarks at the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Heritage Festival on April 1, held at the Multicultural Student Center in the Red Gym.
Performers took to the stage with everything from Bollywood fusion to Punjabi folk dances to hip-hop at the 40th annual Multicultural Celebration of Organizations and Resources, known as MCOR.
Members of the Sikh Student Association stepped up to teach the technique of tying turbans during a special Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Heritage Month event on April 22, 2022.
