Wisconsin forum to examine U.S. transportation programs

The nation’s transportation programs and the status of federal budget authorizations to support them will be discussed Monday, Aug. 9, in Appleton at a forum sponsored by the Midwest Regional University Transportation Center at UW–Madison and the Transportation Development Association of Wisconsin.

U.S. Rep. Thomas E. Petri, R-Wisconsin, vice chair of the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, will be the guest speaker at the forum, which begins at 12:30 p.m. at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in downtown Appleton. Petri, who represents Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District, is also chair of the Highways, Transit and Pipelines Subcommittee, and vice chair of the Education and the Workforce Committee.

Petri’s presentation is part of an ongoing speaker series in Wisconsin sponsored by MRUTC and the Transportation Development Association of Wisconsin.
