UW-Madison Leadership Summit and Career Fair set for April 10

April 5, 2012

All UW–Madison students are invited to attend the inaugural UW–Madison Leadership Summit and Career Fair, which aims to connect undergraduate students to employers who are hiring for summer and fall internships, part-time, and full-time job opportunities.

The event will be held on Tuesday, April 10, in Memorial Union from 5-8:30 p.m.

It will feature job opportunities at UW–Madison for freshmen to graduating seniors. There will be a career fair, professional development breakout sessions, opportunities to explore UW student hourly positions and a chance to learn about full-time university employment.

From 7-8:30 p.m., representatives from the writing center and career center will be on-site to conduct 15-minute critique sessions for resumes and cover letters. Additionally, UW–Madison Vice Chancellor of Administration Darrell Bazzell will give a welcome and keynote address.

The Recruitment Initiative for Student Employees (RISE) is sponsoring the event. RISE is a diversity pipeline program designed to further develop and enhance campus diversity recruitment.

The program’s purpose is to create an academic experience and institutional connection for students of color through rewarding employment and professional development opportunities.

The event is free and open to all UW–Madison students. For more information, contact Tangela Blakely Reavis at treavis@ohr.wisc.edu.
