Top state officials to discuss Wisconsin’s environment

December 5, 2006

Four members of Gov. Jim Doyle’s cabinet whose agencies handle a broad spectrum of environmental and resource management concerns will discuss the environment at a free public forum at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, in the Wisconsin Historical Society Auditorium, 816 State St.

“The State of Wisconsin’s Environment” will be the topic for state agency secretaries Scott Hassett (Department of Natural Resources), Rod Nilsestuen (Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection), Jim Holperin (Department of Tourism) and Stephen Babitch (Department of Administration).

Patty Loew, host of Wisconsin Public Television’s “In Wisconsin” series and an associate professor of life sciences communication, will moderate.

A free public reception at 7 p.m. in the historical society lobby will precede the discussion, and the cabinet members will field questions from the audience during the last half hour of the program.
