Big Ten Network deal funds financial aid, libraries, athletics

Senior Chris Solinsky (Stevens Point, Wis.) earned his second consecutive NCAA Outdoor Title in the 5,000 meters Friday night at the 2007 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Sacramento, Calif. Solinsky finished the race in 13:35.12, four seconds in front of the next competitor.

Regents approve new compensation package for Ryan

The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents on Friday approved an amended contract with Badger men's basketball coach Bo Ryan that increases his next year's salary by $250,000, which provides him a $1.25 million compensation package.

Men’s track wins seventh straight Big Ten title

It was a record-breaking day for the second-ranked Wisconsin men’s track and field team. The Badgers won their seventh straight Big Ten Conference indoor championship with 120 points, tying a league record for consecutive indoor titles. Wisconsin tied a mark held by Michigan from 1934-40.

Men’s basketball ranked top in the country

The Wisconsin men’s basketball team (26-2, 12-1 Big Ten) earned its first-ever No. 1 ranking in the Associated Press Poll released Monday. The Badgers lead the nation in both wins and winning percentage. Ohio State remains No. 2 followed by Florida and UCLA.
