School of Veterinary Medicine researcher wins award

For the third year in a row, a professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Veterinary Medicine has won the American Kennel Club Career Achievement in Canine Research Award. The award, sponsored by the American Veterinary Medical Foundation, will be presented at the 2003 American Veterinary Medical Association annual convention in Denver, Colorado on July 19.

Christopher Murphy, DVM, PhD, a veterinary ophthalmologist and professor at the School of Veterinary Medicine’s Department of Surgical Sciences, was selected based on his career of achievement in comparative ophthalmology, significantly advancing the understanding in areas relevant to canine vision.
