NASCAR comes to town

A NASCAR entry in the July 1 Milwaukee Mile race at the State Fair Grounds will bear UW–Madison colors of red and white with a “Motion W” on both sides and front hood.

The car, to be driven by Elton Sawyer, will be on display at the University Book Store in Madison’s Hilldale Shopping Center Friday and Saturday, June 29-30. T-shirts and caps with the Wisconsin car pictured will be on sale.

Sawyer and his team are competing in 33 races from Feb. 17 to Nov. 10, with 14 universities featured throughout the season. Sawyer has finished in the top 10 in the Busch Grand National standings the last four years.
