There will be a large variety of indoor and outdoor plants to brighten up a dorm room or apartment, or to landscape an outdoor living space, to choose from — including tropical plants, cacti, orchids, mums, asters, vines, orchids, small trees, succulents and bromeliads.

“We have plants for every garden,” says Terri Theisen, co-president of the society. “Guaranteed to satisfy both master gardeners and horticultural novices, alike. New this year, we will be offering key chain plants, small succulent and bromeliad gardens, fairy gardens and terrariums. We also have plant care supplies to ensure your plants will have a healthy environment to thrive.”

A “golden ticket”, worth 25 percent off total plant purchases, will be handed to the first 25 customers on Friday and Saturday.

Plants are sourced from Orchids Garden Centre & Nursery, North Parish Gardens, Inc., and Krueger Wholesale Florist, Inc.

The Horticulture Society is a nonprofit, student-run organization and is comprised primarily of undergraduate students who are plant enthusiasts, including both horticulture and non-horticulture majors.

The fall sale is their largest fundraiser of the year, with all the proceeds going to the club to help pay for scholarships, excursions to places such as Chicago Botanic Garden, local CSA farms, apple orchards and other places of horticultural importance as well as speakers for meetings and outreach programs throughout the Madison area.
