Four in the running for cultural competency position

Four finalists for program director of cultural competency will make presentations at open forums scheduled on campus from June 15 to June 21.

The director of this newly created position will oversee the campuswide initiative to provide inclusion and diversity programs to all new students, including “Our Wisconsin,” which will debut this fall.

All sessions will take place in the Multicultural Student Center Lounge in the Red Gym. The finalists, and their scheduled forums, are:

Kira Pasquesi, current Ph.D. student in higher education and student affairs at the University of Iowa, Wednesday, June 15 at 10:30 a.m.

Penny Jo Rosenthal, current Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling and Student Personnel at Minnesota State University, Mankato, Thursday, June 16 at 10:30 a.m.

Laura Klunder, current social justice educator at the Multicultural Student Center, UW–Madison, Monday, June 20 at 10:15 a.m.

Ida Balderrama-Trudell, current assistant director and academic advisor with the Posse Program at UW–Madison, Tuesday, June 21 at 12:45 p.m.
