Fair to show ways to stay healthy

February 21, 2003

Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend a Wellness Fair on Saturday, March 1, from noon until 4 p.m. at the UW–Madison Natatorium, 2000 Observatory Drive.

There, participants can pick up a variety of health and wellness information from UW–Madison and community organizations, as well as participate in workshops.

“I think it’s important for UW–Madison students, faculty and staff to know what health resources are available to them on campus and in the community,” says Lori Devine, UW Recreational Sports Fitness Director. “The Wellness Fair will showcase the many different ways you can stay healthy.”

Organizations represented at the Wellness Fair will include Campus Vegetarian Society, Tobacco-Free Dane County Coalition, University Health Services, UW Rec Sports/Club Sports, Wisconsin Bicycle Federation and Wisconsin Ironman. Also, the American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive.

Workshops and activities will include “Choosing the Right Bike For You,” “Introduction to Yoga and Pilates,” “Introduction to Capoiera,” and “Getting Into Fitness and Staying There.”

Attendees can park for free across from the Natatorium in Lot 62. For more information, contact Devine at devine@education.wisc.edu or (608) 262-4268.

The Wellness Fair is sponsored by UW Recreational Sports, University Health Services and UW Adapted Fitness & Personal Training.
