UW–Madison focuses on safety post-Va. Tech

For campus administrators, reminders of the Virginia Tech tragedy from a year ago are everywhere. The seismic impact of the event, magnified by more recent shooting events at Louisiana Technical College and Northern Illinois — and even the April 2 murder of UW–Madison senior Brittany Zimmermann — have placed the focus of the last 12 months on safety and security.

Application fee increasing to $44

Effective September 1, 2008, the undergraduate application fee for the University of Wisconsin–Madison and all UW System institutions will be $44.
