Wisconsin Singers sound of music includes all-time favorites

November 2, 2004

No doubt Elvis would be delighted: UW–Madison’s Wisconsin Singers will give his tunes fitting tribute on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 5 and 6, as part of the Singers’ new show, “The Beat Goes On.”

In addition to hits from Presley, the musical agenda features songs made memorable by Frank Sinatra, Dolly Parton, the Beatles and more.

Composed entirely of collegiate singers, dancers and musicians, the Wisconsin Singers have been performing for 36 years. For this concert, area high school choirs and the a cappella quartet BC will join them.

The curtain rises at 7:30 p.m. in the Wisconsin Union Theater. Advance tickets are $15 general/$8 students and senior citizens. Day-of-show prices are $17 and $10, respectively. All seats are reserved, with proceeds going to the Friends of the Wisconsin Singers.
