Wisconsin Alumni Association seeks nominations for Forward under 40 awards

June 10, 2008

Nominations are now open for the 2009 Forward under 40 award, presented by the Wisconsin Alumni Association. The annual award honors and recognizes outstanding University of Wisconsin–Madison graduates under age 40 who are living the Wisconsin Idea, the principle that the university should influence and improve people’s lives beyond the classroom.

To be considered for the award, nominees must not turn 40 before Jan. 1, 2009. The nominees will be evaluated on their career or volunteer achievements, success and impact in their field or community, current ties to UW–Madison and demonstrated Badger spirit in terms of energy, initiative, creativity and drive.

“We are very excited going into the second year of this awards program,” says WAA president and CEO Paula Bonner. “Many alumni wrote to say how proud and impressed they were by the accomplishments of last year’s 23 award winners, and we’re looking forward to recognizing a new group of outstanding young Badgers with the 2009 awards.”

Nominations for the Forward under 40 award are open until Friday, July 11, and honorees will be notified in November. The recipients will be featured in a special publication to be mailed with the spring issue of On Wisconsin magazine in March 2009.
