Wear red to celebrate UW Spirit Day on April 23

April 20, 2010 By Kate Dixon

Badger spirit will be on display everywhere on Friday, April 23, 2010 as University of Wisconsin–Madison alumni and friends around the world show their support for the university on Spirit Day, part of Alumni Weekend.

By wearing spirited red attire on Friday, April 23, UW–Madison alumni and friends will highlight the valuable role UW grads play in the workforce, in Wisconsin, and in communities around the world.

Spirit Day is sponsored by the Wisconsin Alumni Association. Participants can win prizes by gathering with fellow alumni and friends at work or at play and capturing the moment in a digital photo. Prize categories include largest group photo, most creative display of Badger spirit, and furthest geographic location from the UW–Madison campus.

Spirit Day photos can be e-mailed to spiritday@uwalumni.com, along with name and graduation year, and the names and grad years of other UW grads in the photo (if applicable). Photo entries will be accepted from April 23 through April 30, 2010.

Details and a video highlighting previous Spirit Day photo favorites are available at uwalumni.com/spiritday.

Alumni can also celebrate Spirit Day by wearing The Red Shirt™, a collectible T-shirt that supports past, present and future UW students. Learn more at uwalumni.com/redshirt.
