WAA offers travel packages for Orange Bowl

December 3, 2017 By Tod Pritchard

The NCAA announced Sunday that the Wisconsin Badgers football team will travel to Miami Gardens, Florida, a suburb north of Miami, to play in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. Central Standard Time. The Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) invites fans to join the Official Badger Bowl Tour.

This is the first-ever trip to the Orange Bowl for Wisconsin. It is also the second straight year the Badgers are heading to a New Year’s Big Six bowl game.

“Congratulations to Coach Paul Chryst, his staff, and the student-athletes on a successful season! UW alumni and fans everywhere are proud of this team and of our 16th-straight bowl-game appearance,” says Sarah Schutt, chief alumni officer and executive director of the Wisconsin Alumni Association. “WAA is proud to host the official bowl tour and celebrate this special football season with the Badgers.”

Travel packages include airfare, hotel accommodations, and the Badger Huddle tailgate – the only pregame party that boasts appearances by Bucky Badger, the UW Spirit Squad, the UW Marching Band, and other special guests, along with food, drinks, and entertainment. Game tickets can be added to the travel packages. Land packages are also available. Space is limited. Go to uwalumni.com/bowl.

Football season-ticket holders can request bowl tickets through the Athletics Department. Please make your request by 12 p.m. Central Standard Time on Monday, Dec. 4. For more information, visit uwbowlcentral.com.

Founded in 1861 to promote the welfare of the University of Wisconsin and serve the interests of its graduates, WAA connects, enriches, and serves a growing number of
alumni to help facilitate their support of each other and the university. WAA is a division of the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing UW–Madison. For more information, visit uwalumni.com.
