WAA brings Badger fans to Hawaii for two athletic tours

May 20, 2009

The Wisconsin Badgers are preparing to hit the beaches of Hawaii in two separate waves, and fans can follow the men’s basketball team and football team as part of official Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) athletic tours.

The first tour, running Nov. 21-27, features the Badger men’s basketball team taking on perennial NCAA tournament teams during the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational — the nation’s premier early season college basketball tournament.

On the second tour, running Nov. 29-Dec. 6, fans can watch the Badger football team battle the Hawaii Warriors during a trip that includes stops on Maui and Oahu.

Both tours are open to all Badger fans. Travel packages for the basketball tour start at $2,449 per traveler. For fans interested in the football tour, travel packages start at $2,459 per traveler. Both packages include lodging at the team hotels, daily breakfast buffet, game-day transportation, a game ticket, admission to exclusive celebrations and parties, special Badger souvenirs and plenty of free time to explore Hawaii.

“Outside of Wisconsin, I can’t think of a much better place than Hawaii to cheer on the Badgers,” says Paula Bonner, WAA president and CEO. “That’s why WAA is proud to offer all fans the chance to enjoy these Badger travel experiences.”

As an official travel partner of UW Athletics, WAA offers the only tours that include around-the-clock customer service and an on-site UW hospitality desk staffed by travel professionals.

Fans can book the tour of their choice and get more information by visiting this site or calling WAA’s toll-free Tour Hotline at 866-373-5073. WAA can also assist travelers with arrangements for air transportation.
