Vote in ASM Fall Election Oct. 16-18

October 10, 2007

UW-Madison Dean of Students Lori Berquam is encouraging all students to play an active role in shared governance by voting in upcoming Associated Students of Madison (ASM) fall elections.

Voting will take place online at http://asm.uwsc.wisc.edu from 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18. There will be no polling places, but students can vote from any computer that has Internet access, using their network ID and password.

Freshmen students should vote for freshman representatives for Student Council, and the entire student body can vote for the Student Service Finance Committee seats.

“UW-Madison has a long history of student involvement in governance, and shared governance is most effective when a critical mass of students get involved,” Berquam says. “Voting takes just a few moments and can have a big impact.”

This semester, ASM is focusing on campus safety, cheaper textbook prices and a campus grocery store.
