UW Marching Band takes the field in Badger Insider magazine

December 27, 2007 By Kate Dixon

Fans of the University of Wisconsin–Madison Marching Band are treated to a rare glimpse behind the music in the latest edition of Badger Insider magazine.

Badger Insider is an exclusive publication for members of the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA). Featuring insights from Band Director Mike Leckrone, the Winter 2008 edition reveals the dedication and workouts it takes to make sure UW Marching Band performers never miss a beat.

The Winter 2008 issue of Badger Insider Magazine also includes:

  • T-Shirt Titans: The founders of a thriving apparel business known as Sconnie Nation are enterprising young alumni Troy Vosseller, a 2006 grad, and Ben Fiechtner, who graduated this year;
  • Good Eats: Hundreds of UW alumni share Madison memories about their favorite places for food and drink;
  • Badgering: Catch up with Rick Sanger, a 1991 UW graduate, and his wife, Vicki, who together won a reality-TV hunting contest.

WAA members can also expect a special addition to "Flat Bucky’s Wardrobe," as well as new photos from the pocket-size mascot’s worldwide travels.

Each issue of Badger Insider features articles about UW history, points of campus pride and the Badger experience, as written and photographed by UW alumni themselves. The magazine also highlights the lives and experiences of UW–Madison alumni and WAA members around the world. Badger Insider is delivered to WAA members four times per year.

The only way to receive Badger Insider, Flat Bucky, and other exclusive benefits is to be a member of the Wisconsin Alumni Association. All alumni and friends are welcome.
