UHS changes hours

May 23, 2000 By Jonathan Zarov

University Health Services has changed its hours of service.

Hours now are 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; and 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Wednesday, year-round, in both buildings.

The change was prompted by a review of utilization that reveals low use of services by students early and late in the day. The new hours will allow for a better use of staff resources and will not result in a decrease in the total number of appointments.

Students are reminded that information about self-care and referral is available after hours. An on-call clinician is available by phone from 5-9 p.m. weekdays and noon-9 p.m. weekends and holidays. Call 265-8200.

Mental crisis help is available after hours from Counseling and Consultation Services, 5 p.m.-8:30 a.m., and on weekends and holidays. Call 265-6565.
