Symposium: Teaching about inequality

On Thursday, Nov. 7, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at Grainger Hall, a symposium titled “Teaching About Inequality: Challenging Oppression Through Mindfulness” will be held for all graduate students, faculty and staff who wish to strengthen their pedagogical skills in this area. Faculty are strongly encouraged to consider providing course credit for students who attend the public lectures by the symposium’s featured presenters: Paula Rothenberg, “Invisible Privilege: a Memoir on Race, Class and Gender,” 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6; and Allan Johnson, “The Gender Knot, Privilege Power and Difference,” 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 7.
