Students asked to complete NSSE survey

March 12, 2008

Every two years, a sample of UW–Madison freshmen and seniors is scientifically selected to represent the University of Wisconsin for the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE).

NSSE is designed to assess student involvement in practices associated with high levels of learning. The survey asks undergraduates about how they spend their time, what they feel they have gained from classes and how they would assess the quality of their interactions with faculty and students and other educationally important activities.

Recently, many undergraduates received an e-mail from Provost Patrick Farrell asking them to respond to the NSSE survey. For these studies to accurately reflect the experiences of students at UW–Madison, students are asked to complete this survey. Results of the survey should help to improve undergraduate education and student life here.
