Statement by UW System President Katharine Lyall concerning NCAA self report

“Throughout this long process, UW–Madison officials have handled the investigation with the seriousness it deserves. Today’s report is a thorough analysis of a very complex subject. While we cannot predict how the NCAA will respond to the report and the self-imposed penalties, I do appreciate the exhaustive work UW–Madison has done reviewing the situation and preparing its findings. I also applaud the efforts now under way at UW–Madison to better educate its students, staff and fans concerning the NCAA rules and regulations we all must abide by.”
