Shared Governance Committee seeks applications

March 25, 2008

The Shared Governance Committee, a committee of the Associated Students of Madison (ASM), is now accepting applications for more than 100 available positions on more than 45 committees all over campus for fall.

By virtue of Wisconsin State Statute 36.09(5), UW–Madison students have the unique opportunity to partake in the university’s governing process alongside faculty, staff and administration. This is students’ chance to be an active student representative on a university committee that pertains to athletics, educational curricula, diversity, advising, student living, transportation or other areas of campus life.

Students will be appointed to serve on one of more than 45 different university committees, filling more than 100 available positions all across campus. With committees representing almost everything going on at the university, students are encouraged to take this opportunity to influence issues that directly affect the campus community.

More information and applications are available online. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, March 31.
