May 7, 2013 By Susannah Brooks

3:25 p.m. Tuesday: Power has been restored in all affected areas except the Bradley Memorial Building, which is not expected to be restored until Wednesday.

3 p.m. Tuesday: Six campus buildings remained without power, and a seventh was partially down, due to a switch gear equipment failure in the campus electrical system.

According to Faramarz Vakili, associate director of the UW Physical Plant, repair work is ongoing.

As the UW Service Building is among those affected, any requests for service through Central Answering and Response Service (CARS) should be made via telephone to (608) 263-3333

Six buildings are expected to regain power by approximately 4:30 p.m. today, including Chamberlin Hall, Van Hise Hall, the Service Building, the Service Annex and Science Hall. Half of Sterling Hall remains without power; that portion of the building should also regain power by 4:30 p.m.

A seventh building, the Bradley Memorial Building, should regain power by tomorrow.

Updates will be posted as they are available.
