Save the dates: Public forums for provost finalists

April 18, 2019 By Käri Knutson

Three dates and times for finalist presentations for the position of UW–Madison provost have been set.

Finalists will visit campus over the next few weeks to interview and meet with faculty, staff and students. Open forums for finalist presentations will be held:

Wednesday, April 24 – Grainger Plenary Room in Grainger Hall, 2:45 to 3:45 p.m.

Tuesday, April 30 – Sonata Room in Gordon Dining and Event Center, 2:15 to 3:15 p.m.

Wednesday, May 1 – Grainger Plenary Room in Grainger Hall, 2:45 to 3:45 p.m.

Information on each finalist will be made available here 48 hours prior to each forum presentation. A reminder of forum events and the availability of finalist information will be published in a future Inside UW.

The search for a new provost launched in January. The 17-member search and screen committee is chaired by Anja Wanner, professor of English in the College of Letters & Science.

The successful candidate will succeed Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Sarah Mangelsdorf, who will have served in the role for five years. In December, it was announced that she will depart UW–Madison at the end of the 2018–19 academic year to assume the presidency of the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York.
