Register now for UW-Madison School of the Arts at Rhinelander

July 14, 2006

Openings are still available for School of the Arts, a University of Wisconsin–Madison program in Rhinelander that offers dozens of hands-on workshops for adults in art and folk art, arts management, computer arts, movement and relaxation, music, photography, theatre and drama, and writing.

Among the many talented instructors for School of the Arts are nationally recognized author Leslie Levine and Wisconsin’s first Poet Laureate, Ellen Kort. In its 43rd year, the week of intensive learning and creative activity attracts more than 300 people annually.

Classes meet daily Monday through Friday with fees ranging from $199 to $349, based on the total number of class hours. Free events, which are open to the public, include midday performance and lecture forums, a live theatre production, an evening open house, and mini-classes. Each day begins with an optional session of sunrise yoga at 7 a.m.

To register before July 20, call Sarah Marty, SOA Program Coordinator, at (608) 263-2790, smarty@dcs.wisc.edu. Onsite registration is available July 23 and 24 at James Williams Middle School in Rhinelander.
