Host John Roach, left, and guest Ben Sidran discuss Sidran’s career in music during the inaugural taping of Wisconsin Reflections, a television program produced by University Communications and set to be aired on the Big Ten Network this fall. The network debuts on Thursday, Aug. 30.

Wisconsin Reflections is a television interview show that features UW–Madison alumni.

The first two episodes were taped Tuesday, Aug. 28, in front of a studio audience at Wisconsin Public Television and featured guests Al Toon, a former Badgers and NFL wide receiver and a successful area businessman, and acclaimed jazz pianist Sidran, who has been a major figure in jazz, rock and pop for more than 40 years.

The Big Ten Network will mix sports programming with campus programming from the 11 universities that make up the conference.

During the course of the year, each campus will have up to 60 hours of programming to showcase students, faculty research, alumni and provide a window into the diverse learning environment that Big Ten schools offer.
