Questions about financial aid for next year? We have answers!

March 1, 2010 By John Lucas

Quite simply, financial aid can be a complex topic for students and their families to navigate.

To make things easier, the Office of Student Financial Aid and the UW–Madison Parent Program are teaming up to host a live informational Web chat on Tuesday, March 2, from 6-7 p.m. CST to answer a wide range of general questions from students and parents.

Topics may include information about filling out the FAFSA (the Free Application for Federal Student Aid), work-study opportunities, common sense financial tips for students on campus, eligibility requirements for aid and the Madison Initiative for Undergraduates.

Participants are encouraged to submit their own questions or simply sit back and observe the chat. For those who can’t participate in the live chat, a complete transcript will be posted the following day.

Keep in mind that the goal of the panel will be to provide general info and resources. Students and families with very specific questions about their own aid situations advised to contact OSFA for individualized assistance.

Panelists include:

  • Mary Condon, Kate Dike, Karla Weber, Anna Kerns and Michelle Curtis of the Office of Student Financial Aid.
  • Nancy Sandhu of the UW–Madison Parent Program.

If you have questions in advance of the chat, e-mail John Lucas in University Communications.
