Program seeks applications for Collaborative Health Sciences

January 19, 2011

The Medical Education and Research Committee (MERC) of the Wisconsin Partnership Program released its 2010-11 Collaborative Health Sciences Program (CHSP) request for proposals on Dec. 17. Preliminary applications for the program are due Friday, Feb. 4.

Collaborative Health Sciences Program  grants support novel ideas and new approaches to research and education, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration that will benefit the people of Wisconsin. Successful proposals will cross boundaries of basic science, clinical science, social science, and population health science.

Grant teams must be led by a School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) associate professor, professor or senior or distinguished scientist. A co-principal investigator is required and may come from any UW–Madison school or college, UW System campuses, the Medical College of Wisconsin or state agency.

CHSP awards are $300,000 over three years. The Medical Education and Research Committee expects to make two awards during this grant cycle.
