Official Badger bowl tour is about to take flight

December 23, 2010

University of Wisconsin football players won’t be the only ones heading out to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl. The Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) in partnership with Wisconsin Athletics will be transporting more than 3,200 UW alumni, friends and fans looking to cheer their team on to victory.

With 11 total charter flights, including a Boeing 747, flying out of the Dane County Regional Airport in Madison and General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, this sold-out athletic tour will be the largest hosted by WAA since the Badgers last played in the Rose Bowl in 2000.

Along with the multiple flights, tour participants will be staying at 11 different hotels throughout the Los Angeles area. And, thanks to the variety of tour packages offered, travelers on the official Badger Bowl Tour had the flexibility to build their own package, and keep their costs affordable.

“We’re always looking out for the best interests of our alumni and Badger fans everywhere,” said Paula Bonner, WAA president and CEO. “That’s why we were so excited to present these Rose Bowl tour packages. They offered real value, and that value showed in how quickly we sold out of every tour package.”

The On Wisconsin and Varsity packages include four nights of deluxe accommodations from Dec. 29, 2010 to Jan. 2, 2011, access to the Pep Rally at the famed Santa Monica Pier, a special New Year’s Eve event, and more.

For travelers who chose the Jump Around package, their tour begins a day earlier on Tuesday, Dec. 28 and their return flight leaves after the Rose Bowl game concludes on Jan. 1, 2011. Bucky package participants will enjoy a two-night stay from Dec. 31, 2010 to Jan. 2, 2011.

Every package includes lodging, game-day transportation, admission to the official UW pre-game tailgate, the BADGER BLAST/HUDDLE, exclusive souvenirs, and access to an on-site UW hospitality desk staffed by travel professionals.

Fans not able to make the trip out to Pasadena can still experience the excitement leading up to the Rose Bowl by following WAA on Facebook at facebook.com/buckybadger and Twitter at twitter.com/buckybadger.
