April 13, 2007 By Dennis Chaptman

The future of news reporting against the backdrop of a changing media landscape will be examined by New York Times media columnist David Carr on Monday, April 16, at the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Carr's presentation, free and open to the public, will be held at 11 a.m. in the Nafziger Conference Room on the fifth floor of Vilas Hall.

A general assignment reporter for the newspaper's culture section, Carr also writes a widely read media column for the Times' business section. He recently earned notice for his popular "Carpetbagger" blog and online video series that tracked average fans throughout the Hollywood awards season.

Before he joined the Times in 2002, he was a contributing writer for The Atlantic Monthly and New York magazine. He also reported for Inside.com and was editor of the Washington City Paper and the Twin Cities Reader.
