Music faculty begins spring season

The Faculty Concert Series in the School of Music begins its spring season with a recital by Parry Karp, cello, and Frances and Howard Karp, piano, on Friday, Jan. 31, 8 p.m. in Mills Hall, Mosse Humanities Building. The Karps will perform music by composers who were born in the 19th century and died in the 20th.

The series continues with a program of Polish music by violinist Tyrone Greive and pianist Ellen Burmeister on Sunday, Feb. 2, 7:30 p.m. in Mills Hall. They will perform sonatas and shorter pieces, and will be joined for part of the performance by violinist Martha Blum and cellist Janet Greive.

Tickets may be purchased in advance or in the lobby 45 minutes before the concert : $8, public; $6, seniors and non-UW-Madison students; free to UW students with valid ID. Wisconsin Union Theater Box Office, 262-2201.
