The renowned Morgan State University Choir performs at Mills Concert Hall at 6 p.m. Friday.

The Morgan State University Choir will perform in Mills Concert Hall, Mosse Humanities Building at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 28.

The choir, directed by Eric Conway, has performed around the world and is one of the nation’s most prestigious university choral ensembles. The performance is free and open to the public.

The choir is noted for preserving the heritage of the spiritual, especially in the historic practices of performance.

The choral forces of this critically acclaimed choir include The University Choir, which is more than 130 voices strong, and The Morgan Singers – with approximately 40 voices.

While classical, gospel, and contemporary popular music comprise the choir’s repertoire, the choir is noted for its emphasis on preserving the heritage of the spiritual, especially in the historic practices of performance.
