Kirstin Dougan, metadata librarian, Digital Content Group within the General Library System, has received the Music Library Association’s Freeman Award.

Amy Kotek, program assistant confidential, Chancellor’s office, received a Secretary’s Award from Wisconsin Secretary of Administration Marc Marotta last month for her dedication and assistance in coordinating the university’s 2002 Partners in Giving campaign.

Grants, Fellowships

Michelle Miller, associate outreach specialist, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems, was named Donella Meadows Leadership Fellow 2003-2004 by the Sustainability Institute. Fellows will explore systems thinking and organizational learning in application to sustainability challenges they face. Miller will apply the opportunity to her work in pesticide use and risk reduction at the center.

The School of Library and Information Studies has received a support grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The grant will enable SLIS to provide resident tuition scholarships next year to four students working toward master’s degrees in library and information studies.
