Madison kids to ‘trick or treat’ with campus greeks

October 28, 2002 By John Lucas

The UW–Madison Greek community will host “Trick-or-Treat with the Greeks,” an opportunity for area children to experience a fun and safe Halloween on campus, 3-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29.

The event is organized by the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Association and features activities such as face painting, mini-pumpkin painting, cookie decorating, games, storytelling and a haunted house.

Fraternity and sorority members walk the costumed children between houses and supervise each activity.

More than 90 Madison-area children will arrive on campus by bus from the Atwood Community Center, East Neighborhood Center, VA Kids Center, and Bayview Foundation Inc. to participate. All proceeds from Halloween Greek community fund-raising will be donated to participating community centers.

For information, contact Megan Riley, of the Panhellenic Association, (608) 239-8081 or Ion Skillrud of the Interfraternity Council at (608) 279-7545.
