Madison kids invited to trick or treat with campus Greeks

October 25, 2010 By John Lucas

University of Wisconsin–Madison fraternities and sororities will again host “Trick-or-Treat with the Greeks,” an opportunity for area children to experience a fun and safe Halloween on campus, from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27.

The event is expected to bring more than 375 costumed children from area nonprofit after-school programs, including the Vera Court Center, the Boys and Girls Club (Taft Street), the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County-Allied Family Center, Bayview Foundation, the Bridge Lake Point Neighborhood Center, the Salvation Army Community Center, the Salvation Army (East Washington Avenue) and Emerson Elementary.

While on campus, children will participate in fun events such as face painting, cookie decorating and pumpkin carving in the fraternity and sorority chapter houses on Langdon Street.

The event is organized by the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Association. Several hundred fraternity and sorority volunteers will walk the costumed children among houses and supervise activities.
