L&S to hold open house on Friday, Sept. 7

September 5, 2007

Students in the College of Letters and Science are invited to an open house to learn about the college’s advising services and plans for the coming academic year.

The session will be held on Friday, Sept. 7, from 1–3 p.m. at all four L&S Student Academic Affairs locations listed below. There will be free food in each office, along with a chance to register for door prizes, such as an iPod Nano.

L&S will also be conducting a food drive for Second Harvest. Students who bring a non-perishable food item will be given one additional registration for the door prizes.  Collections bins will be available in all locations.

Here’s a summary of the advising services available to students and the locations.

  • Letters & Science Advising Service: 70 Bascom (right off the vending area in the back, or west end, of Bascom Hall). Quick questions, appointment scheduling, peer advisors, academic staff, and L&S Advisors are all available here.
  • Pathways to Excellence Student Academic Services are located in room 25 Ingraham Hall.
  • Academic Advancement Program (AAP) is located in room 13 Ingraham Hall.
  • Cross-College Advising Service is located in 10 Ingraham Hall.  The advisors and peer advisors can be found in residence hall advising offices including the new Ogg Hall.  (Other existing advising offices continue in Chadbourne Residential College, Sellery Hall, Witte Hall, and the Lakeshore office at Bradley.)
