August 8, 2006 By Renee Meiller

On Wednesday, Aug. 9, University of Wisconsin–Madison student groups and several area businesses and organizations will host “Celebrating Lebanese Culture,” an event that will feature Lebanese music, food, folk dance and personal accounts of Lebanese life away from home.

Proceeds from the fund-raiser, which is open to the public, will benefit the Lebanese Red Cross for aid for civilians displaced by recent bombings in Lebanon.

The event begins at 7 p.m. in the On Wisconsin room of the Red Gym on the UW–Madison campus; admission is $10, with opportunities for additional donations.

For more information, contact Samer Sobh, (608) 265-3769, or Edmond Ramly, (608) 695-6113.
