Independent investigation launched in Paul Barrows matter
Chancellor John Wiley and UW System President Kevin Reilly announced today (June 30) that an independent investigation into the allegations concerning Paul Barrows, former vice chancellor for student affairs, will be conducted.
Susan Steingass, a prominent Madison attorney and former judge, has been appointed to investigate the matter. Steingass will begin her work immediately.
To ensure the integrity and credibility of the process, President Reilly has accepted Chancellor Wiley’s request that the Steingass report be reviewed by both President Reilly and UW–Madison Provost Peter Spear, Barrows’ current supervisor. Together, President Reilly and Provost Spear will determine what further action may be appropriate.
