Fred Foster, CEO of Electronic Theatre Controls, visits campus; seats available for TV taping

Arts entrepreneur, technical innovator and proud Badger Fred Foster, founder and CEO of Middleton’s Electronic Theatre Controls, Inc. (ETC), will join an audience of UW–Madison students and friends for a taping of Wisconsin Reflections, airing on the Big Ten Network.

Students and community members interested in joining the audience are invited to the taping on Thursday, Feb. 10 at 1:45 p.m. in the Wisconsin Public Television studios, 2nd floor, Vilas Hall, 821 University Ave.

After working backstage at University Theatre with legendary lighting designer Gilbert Hemsley, Foster formed Electronic Theatre Controls with his physicist brother. Today, ETC is a global leader in theatrical lighting, supplying innovative lighting controls and instruments to Broadway theaters, theme parks, opera houses, places of worship and museums worldwide.      

The time commitment for this taping will be roughly 90 minutes, including a question-and-answer period.
