Film series focuses on healing arts of Asia

Free films focusing on the healing traditions and medical practices of Southeast Asia will be shown on campus Tuesday evenings this summer.

The film series, part of the “Windows on the World 2000” program, features films from Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia and other regions of Southeast Asia. All showings are free and begin at 7 p.m. in 206 Ingraham Hall, 1155 Observatory Drive.

Films include: “The Tiger’s Apprentice,” June 13; “House of Spirit,” June 20; “The Medium Is the Masseuse” and “Stories from the Life of a Balinese Healer,” June 27; “Between Two Worlds: the Story of a Hmong Shaman,” July 4; “New Directions: Women of Thailand,” July 11; “Dancing Through Death: the Monkey, Magic and Madness of Cambodia,” July 18; “Sacrifice,” July 25; and “Lines of Fire,” August 1.
