December 16, 2002 By Cheryl Porior-Mayhew

Wisconsin Alumni Association officials are encouraging Badger football fans to finalize and book their trips this week to the Alamo Bowl.

The WAA’s official tour to San Antonio, Texas, departs on Thursday, Dec. 26. More than 400 packages have already been sold with a limited number of full packages and land-only packages still available, according to Paula Bonner, WAA president and CEO.

The four-day tour includes round-trip charter air from Madison, an option to stay at the team hotel and a variety of excursions. The UW Marching Band will provide Badger-style entertainment at a free Wisconsin pep rally on Friday, Dec. 27. Appearances by Bucky Badger and the Spirit Squad at the pre-game Badger Blast on Saturday, Dec. 28, will get Badger fans fired up to cheer the team to victory.

“This is the way to travel to the Alamo Bowl,” says Bonner. “We’re excited to offer Badger fans an action-packed tour that’s fun for the whole family.”

Travelers can purchase deluxe tour packages, starting at $999 per person. Land-only packages start at $529 per person. Badger fans can find full details and register online at http://www.uwalumni.com/bowltours. Tour packages can also be purchased by calling (608) 262-9521 in Madison or toll-free at (888) 553-5527.
