RE: ENGINEERING EXPERTS AVAILABLE ON FLOODING ISSUES

Recent rains have led to widespread flooding in Wisconsin and elsewhere. University of Wisconsin–Madison Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering Kenneth Potter can discuss stormwater management and flooding-related infrastructure issues. Among his research interests are hydrological modeling and design, estimation of hydrologic risk and stormwater modeling, management and design. Contact: Kenneth Potter, (608) 262-0040, kwpotter@wisc.edu.

Civil and Environmental Engineering Associate Professor Michael Oliva and Professor Lawrence Bank are experts in structural engineering, particularly as it relates to bridge design, testing, construction and reinforcement. They can discuss issues related to flooding and bridge safety. Contact: Michael Oliva, (608) 262-7241, oliva@engr.wisc.edu; and Lawrence Bank, (608) 262-1604 or (608) 233-8169, bank@engr.wisc.edu.
