Employee Assistance Office to host open house

October 2, 2014

UW–Madison’s new Employee Assistance Director, Sherry Boeger, hopes that many in the campus community will take time out of their busy day to enjoy some light refreshments and meet her staff at an open house at the Lowell Center on November 7 from 3-5 p.m. There will be opportunities to ask questions and learn about the confidential services offered by the Employee Assistance Office.

In order to attend, please register by October 22 through OHRD

Boeger, who has served as interim director of the EAO since January 2013, has been selected to lead the office on a permanent basis. Boeger has been with UW–Madison for the past five years as a counselor/consultant and now as director. She has over 15 years’ experience in employee assistance — both in internal and external settings.

As a member of the EAO staff, Boeger’s focus has been on working with employees, managers, and leaders to improve communication and address conflict in the workplace. She has provided numerous presentations across our campus, worked with many groups in conflict, as well as providing counseling for personal and work-related concerns.

“We are excited about Sherry’s appointment as director, and we hope to increase awareness of EAO services so that staff will seek early help for any issues before they impact performance,” says OHR Director Bob Lavigna.

Boeger succeeds Steve Pearson, who retired after 22 years of promoting a respectful and supportive work environment for all faculty and staff, as director of the Employee Assistance Office.
