Dawn Crim named associate dean at School of Education

August 17, 2011

School of Education Dean Julie Underwood has named seasoned campus administrator Dawn Crim as the school’s associate dean for external relations.

The external relations dean is responsible for overseeing the school’s communications, development, and alumni and public relations efforts.

Crim, who starts her new role on Sept. 19, comes to the School of Education from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for University Relations where she has been working as a special assistant on community relations issues.

Prior to joining the chancellor’s staff in 2004, Crim served as the business development manager for the UW-Extension’s UW-Learning Innovations program, as an athletic development assistant at Penn State University, and as an assistant basketball coach at UW–Madison, the University of Kentucky and Penn State University.

Crim will fill the position vacated by Hank Lufler, who retired on June 30 after 41 years of service to the School of Education and the chancellor’s office.
