‘Countdown to Commencement’ set for April 5–6

March 21, 2006 By Cheryl Porior-Mayhew

May 2006 graduates can prepare to “move on” by attending UW–Madison’s Countdown to Commencement. This one-stop-shop opportunity will take place in Tripp Commons, Memorial Union on Wednesday, April 5; and in Room 240, Union South on Thursday, April 6.

The Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) will join with The University Book Store, the Wisconsin Union and UW–Madison to sponsor the event, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. No appointments are necessary.

Countdown to Commencement allows May graduates to get answers about the graduation ceremony itself, check eligibility, reserve commencement attire, order class rings and have their yearbook photos taken by Carl Wolf Studio, Inc. WAA staff will be on hand to explain the benefits of joining the alumni association, including discounts on Kaplan Test Prep courses. They will also provide information about access to short-term insurance and a free e-mail account.

Spring graduates may also enter a raffle to win graduation packages such as a Josten’s class ring or lifetime memberships to WAA or the Wisconsin Union.
