Conference examines grade inflation

Academic standards and grade inflation will be the subject of a daylong conference on Saturday, Oct. 11, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Pyle Center.

“Academic Standards and Grade Inflation” will feature seven speakers, including Alfie Kohn, author of “The Case Against Standardized Testing” and Valen Johnson, author of “Grade Inflation: A Crisis in College of Education.”

Conference speakers have been chosen who represent a variety of points of view and research interests, including philosophers and empirical researchers.
